A New Chapter

Have you ever had your vision of the path you’re on completely changed by an experience? I have. Many of you know me as an end-of-life educator and advance care planner. That work still lives in my heart — but my practice has shifted, and I want to share why.

It started during a planning session with a client, on Zoom, about 5 years ago. In the middle of our conversation, my leg began twitching, and a voice came through clearly: "Tell her Uncle Charlie is here!" I tried to stay focused, but Uncle Charlie was persistent. Finally I asked, "Do you have an Uncle Charlie who has passed?" Her eyes went wide. What unfolded in the next few minutes lifted years of guilt from her shoulders — and redirected the entire course of my work.

That moment led me to train with Suzanne Giesemann, a renowned medium and spiritual educator whose Navy career might have kept her in the logical world, if not for the tragic death of her stepdaughter.

Even after training, I held back. I got in my own way. I worried I wouldn't be taken seriously — that people would think I was weird or too “woo,” or worse, that no one would actually want what I had to offer. The end-of-life world felt safer, more credible. Mediumship felt like a step too far. So I kept it at arm's length, quietly offering it while keeping it out of the spotlight.

What shifted was the accumulation of evidence: session after session where something true and unexpected came through, where people left lighter than they arrived. I couldn't keep arguing with that.

Here's what I've come to understand: we are not only human. We are also soul — and that soul part of us remains in relationship with those who have crossed over. The veil is much thinner than we've been taught. When we begin to inhabit both our human and soul nature, grief doesn't disappear, but it changes shape. The relationship continues. The unfinished conversations, the guilt, the wondering if they're okay — those have somewhere to go.

This is the work I'm called to now: mediumship sessions where you reconnect and find healing, and guidance for how you too can access this powerful practice. You can learn more at my website: www.johannamunson.com or book a 15-minute clarity call with me here.

I'm grateful to be walking this path with you.
